Yahoo blog on Tuesday announced the integration of Twitter results to its search services starting today - making it possible to integrate real-time content into yahoo social experience. Although the company have been previously featuring Twitter content in its search results through API, but now Yahoo receives contents directly from Twitter through its partnership deal.
The deal affords Yahoo full access to Twitter firehose, adding real-time Twitter content to both search results and Yahoo profiles. Built on real-time index of Twitter public feed, real-time search involves striking a balance between most recent and authoritative results. Yahoo users will be able to view Twitter feeds and also post directly to Twitter from their account.
Yahoo will be incorporating a mini Twitter client into its sites: including Yahoo search, mail service and Yahoo Homepage - enabling users to tweet from these Yahoo pages, also available mechanism will enable users share Yahoo content with their Twitter followers.
In comparison, however, Google and Microsoft's Bing, though pioneered the Twitter integration, Yahoo has gone a bit farther in the real-time integration of contents. Local information on Real-time search appears to be the next call on Search innovations, and this latest move means that Yahoo is indeed still very much into the Search game.
